Parker Coles Curtis joins hands with Roundabout Canberra to support families in need

At Parker Coles Curtis, our commitment to the Canberra community runs deep. In the lead up to this holiday season, we are thrilled to partner with Roundabout Canberra, a remarkable organisation dedicated to supporting families facing hardship. Through our partnership, Parker Coles Curtis is proud to support Roundabout’s work by contributing to their end-of-year fundraising appeal with a $10,000 donation. This donation will go into a matched giving fund, amplifying each dollar donated to help more families in Canberra.

Roundabout Canberra’s work is woven into the lives of so many families. Their services go beyond providing material support—they offer relief, joy, and a fresh start. Together, we aim to bring hope and practical support to families who need it most, helping parents and children overcome challenges with dignity, compassion, and care. Here are just a few stories that illustrate the impact Roundabout has on our community, showing why this support is so vital.

John: struggling to make ends meet

Brightening Christmas for dads like John, who is doing his best to provide but struggling to make ends meet during the holidays. This Christmas Roundabout Christmas packs filled with toys, books, and thoughtful gifts will bring big smiles to his children’s faces. Knowing that John’s kids will feel the warmth of the season—and their dad’s love—fuels Roundabout’s volunteers and families who donate.

Jenny: a new mum

Supporting new mums like Jenny, who are facing the challenges of preparing for a new baby without the basics. For Jenny, the thought of welcoming her first child was filled with love, but also stress about how to afford the essentials like a cot, pram, and baby clothes. Roundabout Canberra stepped in, supplying everything she needed to welcome her baby with comfort and security. Knowing that Jenny can now focus on bonding with her child, rather than worrying about essentials, means the world to those who made it happen.

Harry: back to school worries

Helping kids like Harry, for whom going back to school brings both excitement and worry. With essentials like school supplies being a financial stretch for his family, Roundabout Canberra is there to help. Thanks to the generosity of donors, Harry will receive a backpack filled with school essentials—stationery, books, and even a new lunchbox. Imagining his eyes light up as he opens his pack, and the confidence he’ll carry with him as he starts the school year, brings so much joy to the volunteers at Roundabout.

These stories remind us of the profound impact Roundabout Canberra has on our community. For families like Harry’s, Jenny’s, and John’s, receiving this support is life-changing.

  • Donate items: Gently used or new baby and children’s items, such as clothes, prams, or school supplies, are always appreciated.
  • Volunteer your time: Roundabout relies on volunteers to sort donations, pack items, and prepare essential packs. This hands-on help is invaluable.
